We kind of like getting lost here. Both in a lost-in-the-moment way and in a let's-stop-for-directions-because-my-phone-is-dead-as-a-doornail way.
After getting lost (in the former sense) in a beautiful Milwaukee timelapse video the other day, we figured there had to be some other rad Midwestern timelapses to share with you guys.
Of course, there were tons — way too many to include here, so we picked five.
1. Milwaukee by Gregg Monteith
The original inspiration for this Midwestern walkabout. This calming video was taken over a snowy weekend from the filmmaker's hotel room.
2. North Country by Maverick Ideas
The rural landscape included in this video is breathtaking. It seems to move around a little from place to place, but we spied Rochester, Minnesota. And a gazillion gorgeous clouds.
3. Detroit by Richard Bentley
Fair warning: the dramatic music will probably get you too pumped up.
4. A Minute in Minnesota by Justin Donais
The name is a bit misleading because it focuses on Minneapolis rather than the whole state of Minnesota, but all is forgiven because this film is so lovely.
5. Homegrown by Ryan Blaske
This photographer shot this timelapse over a six-month stretch and every location is within 50 miles of South Bend, Indiana. Blaske's mission with this video sounds a lot like ours. "I wanted to show people that more often than not, they can find extraordinary beauty in their own backyard."
Have you seen any other timelapse videos like this from your city? Please share them in the comments!
